Actor explains villain return in Avatar 2

A recent interview with Avatar actor Stephen Lang revealed how far in advance he knew his character would be returning to the sequel.

Speaking to Deadline, Lang discussed his role as the villainous Colonel Miles Quaritch and how it was always planned for him to return in sequence, although it eventually disappeared in the first movie.

"Jim told me years ago, before the Avatar shoot was completed, that Quaritch had a future," Lang said.

“I could have interpreted it as unimportant at the time, because we had a few beers. Shortly after Avatar's debut, Jim again mentioned that the colonel would return, and by that time I already knew Jim well enough to know that he knows what he says. ”

How will the villain return?

Lang gave no details on how Quaritch will return. However, director James Cameron mentioned earlier that the science fiction nature of the film would play a role.
