However, Respawn Entertainment, the game developer, had to convince Lucasfilm about the idea of the game.

According to Stig Asmussem, the game's director, the first meetings with the producer, which is responsible for approving the property-related projects, were frustrating. Since the company didn't want a story with a Jedi.
“They were not happy. I met with them and presented the idea. When I explored the project, Lucasfilm didn't feel very comfortable, ”explains the director.
"After they disputed the idea, they commented that the game did not fit the new barrel and that it was better to do something like the latest Star Wars games," he said.

The director also commented that the Jedi are sacred to Lucasfilm and that he decided to show the producer what his team was capable of doing, and even after convincing, several discussions took place about the developers' decisions.
Even though he received several Lucasfilm no's, the director of Fallen Order added that he understands Star Wars's parent company treatment of his property.
