Marvel Universe and The Walking Dead collided in an unexpected crossover (Source: Reproduction)
The Walking Dead universe may be full of zombies, but it's still much more grounded than the most famous comic book franchises from Marvel and DC Comics. That said, one of the most iconic and powerful weapons in the Marvel universe made a secret appearance in an edition of the series, providing an unexpected link between these two worlds.
Robert Kirkman has a history with Marvel, with the super-successful Marvel Zombies limited series. And it seems that he, or Charlie Adlard, decided to make a sneaky reference to his work in issue 123 of the comics that originated the AMC series.
Danai Gurira, Michonne, reveals the real reason why she left The Walking Dead
The HQ shows the then leader of the Saviors, Negan, gathering his troops to face the Militia. On a panel, we see the villain standing in front of his soldiers, all armed. Most are carrying weapons, but that race boy (clearly visible in the center) appears to be wielding none other than the mythical Nordic hammer Mjölnir.
As you can see in the image below, the hammer is a visual match close to the preferred weapon of the Thunder God, Thor, sporting the same shape, including the same handle. However, if the crossover is official, it is possibly a replica. Or we'll have to rethink everything we know about Thor, being worthy and that epic battle scene in Avengers: Endgame.
