The return of an old acquaintance from the backstage of the Donkey Kong universe may indicate that new nonsense is coming on the Nintendo Switch. According to the VGC, Stephen Dupree, chief designer of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, is back at Retro Studios, owned by Big N.
Although it is unclear what Stephen's mission is now, many believe the professional is working at first on the development of Metroid Prime 4, which is the only project announced in the studio so far.
According to previous reports, the game is experiencing development issues, which explains why we haven't seen or heard anything since the announcement.
However, there is also much speculation that Dupree has returned to work on a new Nintendist monkey game. For now, what Nintendo conforms is that Stephen Dupree will collaborate with Metroid Prime 4. However, the idea that another game of Donkey Kong is already being developed for the notebook circulates strongly behind the scenes and in the gamer press.
