"There has always been an excess of masculinization in the art of comic book heroes," the artist told POPSUGAR. "I thought this would be a fun way to suggest something different," he said, according to Put on the wheel.
"I've always been a big fan of mid-century pin-ups like Gil Elvgren, and the idea of putting male superheroes in similar poses and situations, typically portrayed with women, seemed appropriate and bold."
