Ubisoft announces its third cooperative virtual reality (VR) experience with escape room dynamics: Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time, based on the universe of the game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
The novelty will reach more than 300 VR centers worldwide from the second quarter of 2020 and reinforces Ubisoft's presence in the location-based VR market, for which it has already launched Beyond Medusas's Gate (2019) and Escape The Lost Pyramid (2018), both inspired by Assassin's Creed series titles.

About the game
Developed by Ubisoft Düsseldorf, Germany, Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time can be played by young people and adults of any age, who join teams of two, three or four players to solve team puzzles and find a way to leave the Fortress of Time. The plot begins when Kaileena, the Empress of Time, summons players to help her stop the evil plans of a wizard who is trying to restore the Hourglass of Time and create an army of Sand Monsters. To escape this adventure, players must work as a team and solve puzzles that will lead them to their goals.
"Controlling time in VR is a unique experience, and now players can feel the power of the time dagger in their own hands," said Cyril Voiron, Ubisoft's executive producer for Escape Games. "Mastering time is only part of immersion, as we transport players to adventures that go far beyond what we can do in real life."
"After two years of work, we have partnerships with more than 300 locations worldwide," said Benedikt Grindel, managing director of Ubisoft's German studios. "What started as a pilot project has become one of the biggest distribution networks in the VR entertainment market, which makes us really proud."
